Most lists of fun things to do in Alpharetta are really lists of restaurants. Which is useful right up until you have eaten, it is 9:15pm, and the group is standing in a parking lot deciding whether the night is over.
This one is about the second half of the night. Options for adults and friend groups where there is actually something to do, sorted by the kind of night you are after.

The core problem with a normal night out is that it has no structure. Everyone faces each other, someone has to carry the conversation, and the energy fades on a schedule.

If you just want to play something
Sometimes you do not want a whole plan. Pool tables and a dart wall handle that — walk in, grab a cue, rotate whoever is up next. On Mondays both are free.
Pool and darts are also the right answer when half the group wants to sit and half wants to move around, since you can hold a table and drift between them.
If there is a game on
From September through early January, college and NFL games run on screens around the venue. The advantage over a standard sports bar is that you can reserve a table, so you are not standing behind someone at the bar for three hours — and the half of your group that did not come for football has a card game to play between drives.
