Why We Built Family Game Night in Alpharetta
A father-and-son team built Showdown Social. Family Game Night is their answer to a simple problem: parents should get to enjoy the night too.
Manish and Maanit Madan built Showdown Social together as father and son. Their co-founder, Dan Weineman, recently became a father. Family is not a marketing category for them. It shaped the question behind Family Game Night.
Why do so many family outings still leave one parent running the night instead of enjoying it? Someone picks the plan, explains what is happening, keeps everyone engaged, and watches the clock. They came along, but never really got to join in.

The parent running the night should get to play
At Showdown, a Game Host welcomes the table, explains the social card games, and keeps the night moving. Parents do not have to learn the activity in advance or spend dinner directing it.
That changes the parent's role. The person who made the plan gets to react, compete, laugh, and be in the memory with everyone else.
Why a father-and-son team cared about the problem
Manish and Maanit built the business across two generations. Dan becoming a father added another point of view to the same conversation: families need places where adults and kids can share the experience instead of splitting into separate activities.
Showdown already had the table, food, drinks, and Game Hosts. Family Game Night came from putting those pieces behind a more useful promise: everyone gets to participate.
Why we chose weeknights
Weekends fill up with sports, birthdays, errands, and plans made weeks ahead. A normal Monday or Thursday is where an easy family ritual can make the biggest difference.
That is why kids 16 and under play free Monday through Friday. Families can reserve at no cost, order food and drinks, and let the Game Host take it from there.
